Best Practices-Building Materials Reuse Industry Study
The Center for Resource Conservation worked with consulting firm, Point380, to conduct a national Best Practices—Building Materials Reuse Industry study spotlighting exemplary operations within the growing construction and demolition (C&D) waste diversion industry. In addition to integrating the best practices findings into the ReSource program operations, this study is intended to guide other reclaimed building material organizations in the country, and provide a framework for facility and industry improvement for all interested. Publicly available Best Practice documents have, in some cases, seen rapid acceptance, quick adoption and resulted in profound business advancements in other industries. CRC feels that material reuse best practices are as unique as each facility, but that all in the industry stand to gain from the lessons and experiences of other operators of these businesses.
Additionally, a Best Practices Wiki for the Reclaimed Building Material Industry has been created to encourage public collaboration and continued information sharing on this topic. We welcome your continued additions, edits and review on this interactive website. Check back regularly for updates from ReSource and our other constituents in the building material reuse industry.
