ReSource appreciates the role you are taking in creating a sustainable community by donating your materials here. By giving your materials a second life, you are not only saving space in our landfills, but also saving the energy and resources needed to make new materials. While we wish we could divert all material, we are unable to accept everything. Materials must be in good reusable condition, without any additional work needed. Our staff does not repair, recycle or dispose of trash for customers.
For your convenience please determine if your items are useful to ReSource before coming. ReSource may refuse any item due to its condition, lack of space in the yard, or any other undetermined factor. If we can not help divert your material please look on our alternatives page for ways you can dispose of your product in an environmentally friendly way.
If you are donating small items like nails, doorknobs, hinges, small tiles etc… Please pack them in containers that can be donated with the items.
There are always exceptions to our guidelines. If you see something in the yard we normally do not accept, it is probably from a whole house destruction, where we agree to take everything. If you think your item may be an exception to our normal guidelines, you can bring it in and ask, or bring in a picture of the item so we can make an informed guess if we will accept it. However we may not be able to accept your material when you actually bring it to us, so make sure the picture represents the true nature of your donation.
ReSource is conveniently located near Ecocycle, Western Disposal, Household Hazardous Waste, and CHARM (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials). If we can not accept your material, it is likely, but not definite, one of these places will accept your material. For your convenience their numbers are listed below.
If you are donating a significant amount of material and would like a donation receipt, it would be helpful to have a list of the items you are going to donate, so we can write the donation receipt without having to go through each item. This especially helps if you are donating a lot of hardware or other small items.
Cabinets
Cabinets must be in a reusable condition, with all the doors and drawers intact and attached. There can be no water damage or mold. A cabinet can not be missing any of its side or back panels.
