Material Donation Overview

Your material donations do more than just contribute to the success of ReSource and to your local economy. By donating your used building materials and antiques to us, you are building a more sustainable world and a healthier environment by keeping our landfills free of perfectly good materials.

We created donation guidelines to ensure that ReSource runs as efficiently as possible. We constantly deal with space limitations. We don't have room for overstock, so occasionally we turn material away. The staff does not repair, recycle or dispose of trash for customers. All donations must be in good condition and re-usable as is. Donations are tax deductible.

Donation Guidelines

All donations must be approved and are accepted at staff discretion.

Donations are accepted from opening to one hour before closing.

(Click here for Boulder hours & here for Fort Collins hours.)

Donation Receipts for your tax deduction are issued at time of drop off only.

ReSource will provide a donation receipt upon request that will state the quantity and type of material donated. ReSource does NOT establish values for donated material. If you are claiming less than $500 in donated materials, no additional forms are required.

If you are claiming $500 or more, IRS form 8283 is required to be submitted with your taxes. According to form 8283, if you claim less than $5000 per item or group of similar items, you can self-determine those values and list them in Section A of form 8283.
